Thanks to [info]blackletter's shoutout, I have oodles of useful feedback on my grief request below. So I thought it might be a good moment to explain why I need rules. )

I'm trying to think up rules for grieving. There are all sorts of artificial time constraints, systems of understanding the process, things one is supposed to DO...it's very open-ended. I rarely try to use the hive-mind, and my readership on LJ is small, but I'm curious, o brilliant friends--if you had to give advice to someone who's grief-struck, what would you say? Are there rules?

I am thinking about purchasing a set of Softer World prints to frame in an interesting way. One of the ones I want is not available, though.

I like the text on: 46, 62, 68, 77, 223 (unavailable).

But I need to make a longer favorites list and see how the art goes together.

Lookie, an awesome way to procrastinate the alien editing I need to finish before Friday.

Agent blog guest post that is mostly old hat, if nicely condensed. But the ellipses avoidance in dialogue rule is one I hadn't heard before. I like it. Parens and ellipses are to be avoided anyway, and em-dashes used sparingly.

  • 15:53 I can has grad school? #
  • 15:54 Do not want to teach my class. I'm tired, still feeling under the weather, and I have nothing to say. Blah. Guess I'll wing it... #
  • 17:41 Am Twittering from class while the students do in-class writing. This probably makes me a terrible teacher. Sigh. #
  • 17:42 @Solop I want to hang out at Macy's with you! Instead of teaching my class... #

  • 20:37 @blackletter Post-structuralism is soooo twentieth century. I'm 90% sure I'm in binary opposition to your metacognition. #
